SWTOR Tatooine Red Mastery Datacron and Blue Matrix Shard Location Guide

The Red Mastery Datacron increases your aptitude in combat, allowing you to do more damage. It will grant you Mastery +3 to your permanent stats along with codex: Galactic History 41: The Droid Rights Movement.

The Blue Matrix Shards are remnant relics of the Infinite Empire and no longer useful. Once they were used to create your first relics at the game's launch. Now it's simply part of the Datacron Master Achievement along with codex: Galactic History 40: Czerka Discovers Kashyyyk. There are 5 Datacrons in total located on the planet of Tatooine.

Datacrons are collectables scattered around the galaxy in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Each Datacron contributes towards your Legacy's passive stats permanently. Furthermore, they also provide interesting Lore and Codex Entries about the Old Republic era.

Starting coordinates: -2337, 0.

Both of these Datacrons are basically located at the same place, on a Jawa Sandcrawler in the far west of the Dune Sea. You have to ride the Jawa Balloon, which will take approximately 20 min, but much longer if you miss any of the jumps. The Balloon will complete its full circle in approximately 40 min.

As the Balloon is approaching, stay calm. It will actually stop and let you jump into the "basket" easily. Now just enjoy the ride, but do not go AFK. If you log out, you will spawn on the ground at your last known location.

As you approach the next Sandcrawler, stay calm. Do not jump too early. Wait until the Balloon is literally above the Sandcrawler. Use a running jump from the center of the basket over the heightened ledge, use a mount if it makes you more comfortable, but do not slide off.

This will grant you a Blue Matrix Shard, which is no longer useful, but is simply part of the Legacy achievement towards Datacron Master, along with the codex: Galactic History 40: Czerka Discovers Kashyyyk.

This datacron holds unheard of power and knowledge collected by an ancient race. You access its power and discover writings which are clearly only one small piece of a massive galactic history:

Czerka Corporation had grown rich on weapons development, experimental research and planetary exploration. Some years before the Great Droid Revolution, Czerka discovered a backwater planet with extraordinary flora and fauna, whose trees grew kilometers high. The planet was known to its natives as Kashyyyk.

Czerka was already planning to exploit Kashyyyk's resources when corporate scouts encountered the native Wookiee population. Although physically strong and agile, the Wookiees were forced to fall back before Czerka's superior technology.

It didn't take Czerka long to realize that the true wealth of Kashyyyk was the Wookiees themselves. Bringing in its forces and considerable investment power, Czerka established a position on Kashyyyk and set about exporting Wookiee slaves to the highest bidder. They also decided to change the planet's name to something more appealing to investors: Edean.

Jump down from the top where the Matrix Shard Datacron is located.

Shimmy along the side of the Sandcrawler on the narrow ledge until you are right above a small platform directly below. This is where your Red Mastery Datacron is located.

Pro Tip: I recommend walking backwards, since you walk slower backwards, toggle walk (Default keybind NUM /) or disable sprint (right-click the icon on your buff bar). Lightly tap S to walk backwards, but be prepared to move forwards as soon as you drop down. If you missed this fall, you have to start all over again.

This will grant you Mastery +3 to your permanent stats along with codex: Galactic History 41: The Droid Rights Movement.

This datacron holds unheard of power and knowledge collected by an ancient race. You access its power and discover writings which are clearly only one small piece of a massive galactic history:

For millennia, droids had filled an important role in Republic society. They were tireless workers, trusted servants and often functioned as diplomatic translators. Battle droids formed a key part of the Republic's military strategy.

However, a "droid rights" movement began to find a voice across the Republic and quickly became popular on Coruscant. The argument was made that since droids had personalities and sentience, owning a droid was tantamount to slavery.

The Galactic Senate dismissed the movement as a mere fad, but after millions of appeals to create a Droid Rights Bill, they were forced to address the issue. A surprising number of Senators spoke up in favor of droid rights, while many others dismissed the idea as absurd. The debate would continue until the Great Droid Revolution stopped the droid rights movement in its tracks.
